Writing

My most recent book – Relatable: Exploring God, Love and Connection in the Age of Choice – was published in May 2019. Based on the exclusive Real Life Love survey of almost 1500 people, the book explores the past, present and future of relationships influenced by faith. Celibacy, polygamy, sex robots, gender roles, and #hotwives. It’s all there. If you’d like me to come and talk about the book (probably on Zoom at the moment!), the Real Life Love survey, and all things modern relationships, get in touch.

If you’d like me to write for you about anything else (or talk, interview, host or contribute to something), please get in touch via the contact page or email vicky@vickywalker.info. I have written for The Times, The Independent and Cosmopolitan, and am a regular contributor to a range of magazines and websites. I also have a sporadically updated blog for the more random things.

Writing about faith and culture

I currently write most often for the Church Times, including interviews with Tara Isabella Burton on ‘intuitional religion‘, Stina Kielsmeier-Cook on ‘spiritual singleness’ and mixed-faith marriage, Peter Callesen on representing the eternal in art, and features on how artists are responding to the pandemic and solitude in the pandemic, and book reviews.

You can read my older work on Threads, about society, sex, theatre, leadership, destiny and more, through the lens of faith. I have written for award-winning dating gurus Christian Connection’s blog, in a column called I was wondering… and for Christian Today, often about women and faith, but have also covered pick-up artists, Christian conferences, slavery, and Adele (for legal reasons I should probably make clear those things aren’t connected. Especially not Adele). I’ve written for Rhythms on ethical fashion, for Preach magazine on money, and about the co-opting of war footage for advertising for Christians on the Left.

I’ve also written for Funny Women about One Direction, cold weather, how not to propose, and animals.

My first book was Do I have to be good all the time? and other awkward questions. You can read the first chapter for free. If you’re a UK reader you can buy the book here and US readers can get it here.
